Muslim Figurehead Visits Raleigh Mosque
(Raleigh, NC; 10/3/2006) - The Islamic Center of Raleigh is honored to host world renowned Quranic scholar Muhammad Jebril at the Center from October 4th through the 6th. Jebril has received significant notoriety throughout the world for his recitation of the Quranic text.
Jebril, a native of Egypt and the Islamic Al-Azhar University in Cairo, will spend much of the holy month of Ramadan traveling throughout the world. His travel within the United States includes visits to Los Angeles; San Diego; Fort Worth, Texas; Chicago; Irvine, California; Maryland; Northern Virginia; Minnesota; Boston; his final stop in the U.S. will be Raleigh. He will spend time in Malaysia as well before returning to Cairo, Egypt. During these visits, Jebril will lead the evening prayers every night, which are held in congregation during the month of Ramadan.
The Islamic Association of Raleigh would like to invite the media to meet with the visiting guest as well as attend the prayer services which will be led by Jebril on October 4th, 5th and 6th, beginning each night at approximately 8:30PM.
